Direction | One of several possible directions of travel –inbound, outbound, westbound, eastbound, northbound and southbound– on a route. (Example: route 2 Blanco is “southbound” to downtown, and “northbound” to Loop 1604) |
Location ID | The unique number that identifies each VIA bus stop. Publicly this number is referred to as a StopID |
Pattern | A unique travel path through the street network to visit selected stops for one trip. |
Route | A collection of ordered stops presented publicly as a “route” with a name (such as “2 Blanco”) and represented internally as an integer. |
Timepoint | One of several stops on each route that serves as a benchmark for whether a trip is running on time. |
Trip | An iteration of a vehicle traveling along a given pattern. (Example: Route 2 Blanco makes a trip from downtown to Loop 1604 & US 281. Loop 1604 & US 281 to downtown would be its next trip.) |
